Gyotaku has always been a method for anglers to use ink to print and record the actual size of the big fish caught as a commemorative method. The traditional method ends up using a brush to outline the fish's eyes on paper. This step is also the most artificially disturbed in the entire rubbing process.

Lui believes that the meaning of Gyotaku 's existence stems from complete reproduction, which is an ancient photography concept. The use of brush to draw the eye to fill in the essence not only adds the only artificial part of the art to the method of purely copying the outside, but also destroys the photographic method that is originally intended to be "simple record".

Lui has always been thinking about a new way of expressing fish rubbings, abandoning the traditional external images such as simply recording the size, outline and patterns of the fish body, and turning to the "ink" (sea water) that the fish body has as the rubbing medium. Foreign fish are always tested before entering an artificial environment to ensure that the water quality is not affected. This work uses the fish tank water quality test strips to spread as the bottom paper, and the filter bottom plate as the support plate. The seawater and mucus on the fish body will affect the color results of the test paper. The work attempts to record another kind of self-information of the fish through the interval considered by the function of the test paper, and develops a new abstract expression form that the fish extension can have both internal records and an abstraction.
